We Develop Leaders
Organizing to make real change isn't rocket science...but it isn't always intuitive, either.
It's something you learn.
Better Wyoming’s Grassroots Institute is an eight-week training program that develops leaders across the state into community organizers. We combine research, best practices, and on-the-ground experience to share with volunteers and partner organizations so they can learn what they need to make a difference.
Creating change doesn’t result from a single op-ed or protest. With the help of our partners in the Wyoming Civic Engagement Network, we provide hands-on opportunities to learn:
- how to craft a strategic campaign
- nuts-and-bolts organizing skills and tactics
- the importance of creating a narrative that works for your cause
Through the Grassroots Institute, we’re teaching folks from around Wyoming how to build power, develop more local leaders, and take action to make a real difference in our state.

Here's What We Teach
The Grassroots Institute explores how to build an organizing project from the ground up. Through a combination of expert input and collaborative discussion, participants are guided in the creation of their own projects!
