Last Thursday, Better Wyoming co-hosted a town hall with our Healthy Wyoming coalition partners to discuss how proposed federal budget cuts could harm thousands of our neighbors who rely on Medicaid for their health insurance.
Read coverage of the event in the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle here:
As Congress works on legislation that would slash roughly $880 billion from Medicaid, the consequences for Wyoming’s healthcare system, and the people who depend on it, could be devastating.
Medicaid covers 70% of nursing home stays for Wyoming seniors, more than a third of our state’s children, and is often the only healthcare option for over 60,000 low-income, elderly, disabled, pregnant, and blind residents.
At last week’s town hall, we heard directly from local healthcare professionals who warned us of the local impacts that this decision could cause. If you missed the conversation, you can watch the full recording here:
We need better healthcare in rural America—not devastating cuts. And we need to make our voices heard now.
Will you take two minutes to email Rep. Harriet Hageman today and tell her you oppose Medicaid cuts? Every message counts—and right now, Wyoming voices need to be loud and clear.
Thank you to for speaking up and for fighting for healthcare access in our state.
