Better Wyoming receives “School Bell Award”

One of the most exciting things Better Wyoming gets to do is work with amazing partners.

Over the last year, we’ve collaborated with the Wyoming Education Association (WEA) to protect public education funding, fight off book-banning bills that would punish educators, and train their members to become grassroots leaders in their communities.

So you can imagine how honored we were to receive the WEA’s School Bell Award earlier this month at their Awards and Recognition Banquet! The award recognized Better Wyoming and several other groups for “outstanding coverage of education news and issues.”

Two of our organizers, Angela and Carla, attended with a group of Better Wyoming volunteers, Susan Blaney and Maira Marcum. They were treated to a delicious meal and a trophy proffered by an emerald-clad Dirk Andrews.

It’s always great to be recognized - especially when we can show off everything our volunteers do.

But Angela’s favorite part? “It was a wonderful evening, but my favorite part was meeting all the other award recipients and hearing their stories!”

Some new partners in the making, maybe...
