TELL YOUR LOCAL WYO. SENATOR: VOTE “NO” ON PRIVATE SCHOOL VOUCHERS (HB-199)

The Wyoming State Senate is considering a bill that would divert $50 million a year from public education and give it to families who send their kids to private and online schools.

This is a bad bill that hurts local public schools—especially rural students and special ed students—and is basically a handout to families who can already afford private education.

The vote in the Senate is happening soon. 

We need folks to reach out to their local senators ASAP and ask them to vote NO on House Bill-199, which would establish a universal private school voucher program.

Here’s how:

1. Find out who your local state senator is, along with their contact info.

Use this website to look up your local state senator. Just fill in your address in the box and then tap the district that shows up on the map.

The website will show you your local senator’s phone number. This is their official legislator number that you can call or text as a constituent.

2. Think about what you are going to say.

3. Reach out to your senator!

Whether you speak directly to your senator, text them, or leave a voicemail, the first thing you should say is “I am a voter in your district.”

Then, let them know why you would like them to vote “NO” against private school vouchers (House Bill 199).

4. Share this page with your friends and ask them to reach out to their local senators, too!

The more people we have contacting their local Wyoming state senators, the better chance we have of stopping private school vouchers in Wyoming and saving our public education system.
